About Kosmosis Tattoo

Kosmosis Tattoo is a custom tattoo studio in Old Town Scottsdale founded by artist Keegan Keough in October 2019. Located on East 6th Avenue, the studio reflects Keough's background in fine art, international tattooing and illustration. His tattoo career began with an apprenticeship under Damien Killgod in Washington in 2007, followed by work with Kyle Walker at Black Rose Tattoo in San Diego. Before establishing Kosmosis, he also tattooed internationally in Australia, Iceland, Germany, Norway, Italy and Ukraine.

Keough's preferred artistic directions are color surrealism, black and grey realism and illustrative tattooing. These specialties give Kosmosis a distinctive identity for clients interested in imaginative compositions, detailed shading and artwork that extends beyond conventional flash designs. His experience with oil painting, drawing and digital art also informs the studio's approach to translating visual concepts into permanent body art.

The studio's published portfolio and service descriptions cover realistic portraits, Japanese-inspired compositions, traditional and neo-traditional designs, geometric artwork, fine line tattoos, bold blackwork and custom lettering. Kosmosis also emphasizes psychedelic and cosmic imagery, allowing clients to explore abstract, symbolic and surreal concepts alongside more recognizable subjects. The studio works on projects ranging from small minimalist tattoos to large-scale custom pieces and sleeves.

Kosmosis places particular emphasis on collaborative design and long-term tattoo appearance. Its official website describes working with clients from the initial concept through aftercare, with attention to placement, technical execution, sanitation and healing. For someone comparing tattoo artists in Scottsdale, the most useful distinction is Keough's combination of surrealist and illustrative interests with experience across both color and black and grey tattoo techniques.
